MOMBASA, Kenya, Jan 13 – Defending champions Changamwe Ladies stormed into the final of the Coast Region girls Safaricom Chapa Dimba fourth edition after thrashing Ukunda Starlets from Kwale county 4-1 on Saturday at the Mbaraki Sports Club.
Margaret Nafula scored a brace, with Leah Chebet and Diana Mkando each netting a goal while Ukunda’s consolation goal was scored by Mwaka Grace.
The Mombasa based ladies will face an acid test on Sunday when they lock-horns with Bulls Starlets from Kilifi County who whitewashed Wenje Secondary School 7-0.
Speaking to Capital Sport after the match, Bulls Starlet ace Gloria Mupo, who netted five goals, said her goal is to inspire the team to lift the national title.
“This is the first time that I have scored many goals in one match, this will inspire me to work hard and see us win this tournament. I hope to be seen by scouts and play in the local Premier League and eventually abroad,” the 17-year-old Form Four forward from Maziwa Mixed Secondary School from Malindi said.
