DJ Joe Mfalme, crew arraigned in court over murder of a Police Inspector

The DJ appeared in court alongside three members of his crew and three police officers blamed for the murder.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 24 — DJ Joe Mfalme, a popular city disk jockey, was arraigned at the Kibra Law Courts on Monday over the murder of a Police Inspector following a clash on March 16.

The DJ appeared in court alongside three members of his crew and three police officers blamed for the murder.

Police applied to hold the suspects for an additional twenty-one days to conclude a probe on the matter.

The three police officers implicated in the matter were arrested over the murder of a Dagoretti-based detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after they reportedly intervened in a feud over a traffic incident involving DJ Mfalme and the deceased officer on March 16.

Khadija Abdi, Sammy Rotich, and Agnes Kerubo were arrested on Saturday after the deceased officer identified as Inspector Felix Kelian Kitosi succumbed to injuries.

Although the police report stopped short of identifying Mfalme at the time, footage emerged showing the dramatic arrest of DJ Joe Mfalme with reports indicating he was detained at Kabete Police Station under whose jurisdiction the incident was reported.

The National Police Service was silent on the matter only confirming the deceased officer died while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital where he was hospitalized with abdominal pain.

His body was moved to the Umash Funeral Services-Mbagathi where an autopsy examination was conducted on Saturday as investigations commenced.
