NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 16 – 2012 Boston Marathon Champion Wesley Korir has been nominated to serve in President William Ruto’s government as a Chief Administrative Secretary.
Head of Public Service Felix Kosgei says Korir has been nominated alongside Kigeugeu hitmaker Charles Kanyi ‘jaguar’ in the Ministry of Sports, The Arts, and Youth Affairs.
However, the names will be subjected to approval by the National Assembly.
During the 2022 General Election, the former Cherang’any Member of Parliament unsuccessfully vied to recapture the parliamentary seat he lost during the 2017 polls
He has since been working with dairy farmers of Cherangany to improve and strengthen their yield.
Korir’s story from the elite runner to a politician was turned into a documentary in 2014.
