DP Gachagua meets multi-agency teams amid flooding

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 24 – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has convened a multi-agency emergency response team to deliberate on the country’s response amid the flooding situation that has been caused by Tuesday’s heavy downpour.

Kenya Red Cross has been reporting that residents in various parts of the country are counting heavy losses as heavy floods continue to destroy their properties.

The floods have also damaged roads and infrastructure. Transport services in several areas have been disrupted in the region.

The Kenya Meteorological Department last week released a weather forecast warning that the heavy rains are expected this week.
