NAIROBI, March 17- CAF Champions League participants Gor Mahia face Bandari at City Stadium on Thursday from 4pm local time in a re-scheduled Kenyan Premier League match that marks the resumption of top flight club football action following three weeks of inactivity brought about by a court injunction.
Gor and Bandari registered impressive wins in their opening KPL fixtures on the weekend of February 21 and 22.
While a rebuilt and confident Bandari were crushing visiting Muhoroni Youth 3-1 at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, reigning league champions Gor Mahia were thrashing Mathare United 4-2 at City Stadium in Nairobi.
A full set of eight fixtures will be played over the weekend and will also involve Nakuru All Stars and City Stars, who were relegated last season, but have, following a decision by the KPL Governing Council, been included in the league to make 16 teams.
The High Court on Monday lifted an injunction obtained by Football Kenya Federation on February 20 stopping KPL from running the league.
