Noonkopir girls secondary school temporarily shut down over lesbianism

KAJIADO, Kenya, Apr 14 – Noonkopir Girls Secondary school has been temporarily closed and all learners sent home over allegations of uncontrolled lesbianism.

All the 987 learners were sent home after a section of the them become unruly over the menace.

The learners were on Thursday evening issued with leave outs directing their parents to accompany them to school on Monday to indicate whether they wanted them to remain in the school or be given transfers.

To some parents, the move came as a shocker while it is believed that others were privy to alleged rampant cases of lesbians.

Some parents claimed that learners had raised concerns over the lesbians issue with the principal Florence Kimeu but no action was taken against ring leaders.

It is reported that when the menace got out of hand, several students were sent home at the begining of the day.

The board of management Chairman Thuo Kiarie told journalists that only the county director of education address the matter on an official capacity.

County education director Martin Cheruyiot is yet to respond on the matter.

The unruly behaviour in the school is also reported to have been escalated by those who wanted to go home for the Easter holiday.
