Arsenal’s French trio extend deals

Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud celebrates after scoring during their game against Bournemouth on January 3, 2017

LONDON, United Kingdom, Jan 12 – Arsenal have confirmed that the club’s trio of French stars, Francis Coquelin, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny, have all extended their deals to stay in north London.

Coquelin has been a key performer in midfield for the Gunners in recent seasons, while Giroud is a regular scorer despite being used sparingly this season.

Koscielny, mneawhile, has made 273 appearances and netted 22 times while playing a crucial role in defence.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger expressed his delight at the contract renewals.

He told the club’s official website: “We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term.

“Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he’s so focused every day.

“Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us.

“Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us.”

The trio of Frenchmen will likely be involved when Arsenal take on Paul Clement’s Swansea City in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Liberty Stadium.
