NAIROBI, Kenya, February 1, 2026 – Tusker Malt and BMW played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in the final of the Chairman’s Cup at the Nairobi Polo Club on Sunday evening.
Veteran Raphael Nzomo drew first blood for Tusker Malt, scoring off a quick break early in the first chukka after their opponents had missed a chance of their own at the other end.
However, BMW redeemed themselves almost immediately after courtesy of Mbu Ngugi to leave the scores delicately poised heading into the second chukka.
Kevin Jumba then restored Tusker Malt’s advantage in the second chukka but Ngugi came to the automaker’s rescue once again, scoring his second of the afternoon to level the scores in the penultimate chukka.
The fourth chukka was a see-saw affair as Nzomo and Ngugi starred for their respective teams with a brace each.

In the end, there was no separating the two sides who had to share the spoils in what had been a bruising but enjoyable battle on the grass.
Happy ending for Pure Travel
Preceding the final was a firecracker battle for third place between NPC and Pure Travel, which the latter won 3-2.
NPC took the lead in the first chukka before Pure Travel raced into a 2-1 advantage courtesy of Jamie Excell’s brace in the second chukka.
Natasha then levelled the scores in the third chukka but Pure Travel had the last laugh when Fred Kambo scored off a free kick in the last chukka to clinch third place.
The Chairman’s Cup marks the end of the 2025/26 season, with the next one set to resume in June this year.
