NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 11 – Popular online sensation iShowSpeed has virtually shut down parts of Nairobi, after massive crowds of fans overwhelmed city streets, bringing traffic to a standstill and forcing him to halt his planned movement to the next location.

At the height of the chaos, even police officers struggled to clear the roads, as thousands of excited fans surrounded Speed’s convoy, chanting, recording videos and livestreaming the moment across social platforms.

The scenes unfolded during Speed’s ongoing “Speed Does Africa” tour, with his Kenya stop smashing records.

At one point, the livestream pulled in over 200,000 live viewers, marking one of the biggest streaming moments in Kenya’s internet history.

Speed had earlier toured Uhuru Park, rode a camel, visited Kenyatta Market, and stopped at the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project, where he played basketball with locals — moments that further fueled the frenzy online and on the streets.
