A dawn demolition on Douglas Wakiiuri Road flattened cars, a carwash, and businesses opposite Rubis Nyayo Stadium, leaving the road blocked and property destroyed.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 14 — Several vehicles were destroyed during the dawn demolition of a carwash and adjacent businesses on Douglas Wakiiuri Road, formerly Aerodrome Road, opposite Rubis Nyayo Stadium.

All cars in the yard, including those at the carpet and carwash, were flattened, alongside a restaurant and other structures.

The operation has blocked the road, with bulldozers and large stones still obstructing access.

Property of unknown value, including motor vehicles, was lost in the operation.

A crowd, including business owners, gathered at the scene amid tight security. The demolition, which began at 3am, affected a carwash owned by a Central Kenya governor.
