NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 24 — Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula is mourning the sudden demise of renowned political mobilizer Joseph Kubende, who died under mysterious circumstances Friday morning.
Police and other witnesses say the 42-year-old died after a fall from the fourth floor of an apartment in the Roysambu area, Nairobi.
At the time of his fall, Kubende had landed on his head becoming unconscious.
“Officers visited the scene and established that the victim was alone at the time of the incident and had come to visit his cousin Justo Misika Wanyama a week ago and was en route to the USA where he resides and works,” the police said.
The deceased was rushed to Jesse Kay Hospital on Lumumba Drive before he was referred to Radiant Hospital in Pangani where he succumbed.
Wetangula eulogized Kubende as a renowned orator, a great poet, and a vocalist, who touched the lives of many through his thrilling songs, love for literature, and motivational speeches, especially on political platforms.
He said Bungoma County and the country at large have lost an energetic, vibrant, and talented person whose many admired his brilliant oratory skills.
