NAIROBI, Kenya Aug 30 – ODM’s Abdulswamad Nassir was declared Mombasa Governor-Elect Tuesday, after garnering 119,083 votes, defeating UDA’s Hassan Omar who got 98,105.
The former Mvita Member of Parliament will be replacing Hassan Joho who served for two terms.
Others on the race were Hezron Awiti of the Vibrant Democratic Party (VDP), William Kingi of Pamoja Africa Alliance party (PAA), Said Omar of Usawa party, Daniel Kistao (Independent) and Shafi Makazi (Independent).
