Kenya’s Reynold Cheruiyot Scoops Bronze At Tokyo World Championships

TOKYO, Japan, Sept 17 – Kenya wrapped up Day 5 at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with a bronze medal in the men’s 1500m courtesy of Reynold Cheruiyot.

Reynold had to dig deep on the home straight to clinch bronze in 3:34.25 in a surprise race that saw Portugal’s Isaac Nader win gold in 3:34.10 ahead of Briton Jake Wightman, who took silver in 3:31.12.

2019 champion Timothy Cheruiyot of Kenya, who took charge of the race at the bell, faded to fourth in 3:34.50.
