NAIROBI, Kenya Sep 16 – Kenya’s premier radio station, Capital FM marked its 25th anniversary on Thursday, with a series of celebrations starting with an internal party at the station’s headquarters on the 19th floor of Lonrho House.
The station owned by billionaire businessman, the late Dr Chris Kirubi or DJ CK, is Kenya’s first privately-owned FM radio that went on air in 1996.
The station boasts of delivering The Best Mix of Music, authentic news, events management and digital solutions to clients.
Here are some of Capital FM’s milestones for the past 25 years:
- First FM radio station in Kenya.
- First online Live Streaming radio station.
- First radio station to play Rock, Jazz and Neo Soul.
