Kenya’s top military officials feared dead in West Pokot helicopter crash

Speculations are rife on the identities of those on board but the Military Headquarters and the Ministry of Defence is yet to comment on the deadly accident.

NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 18 – At least five top military officials have died after their helicopter crashed in West Pokot.

The helicopter said to have been carrying top commanders went up in flames after crashing at Sindar area, witnesses said but no official statement has been released.

Speculations are rife on the identities of those on board but the Military Headquarters and the Ministry of Defence are yet to comment on the deadly accident.

Police sources say the military officials were in the area to assess security following increased attacks by bandits in the region in recent weeks.
