2 suspected robbers arrested in Garissa, AK47 rifle recovered

Two magazines, forty-two rounds of ammunition and porches were also recovered according to the National Police Service (NPS).

GARISSA, Kenya, Apr 8 — Police in Garissa have arrested two suspected robbers in a multiagency operation near the Kenya-Somalia border.

Security officers also recovered an AK47 firearm following the arrest at Ifo area within Dadaab sub-county.

Two magazines, forty-two rounds of ammunition and porches were also recovered according to the National Police Service (NPS).

“Earlier today a multi-agency security team acted on the information provided by the members of the public, and successfully recovered one AK47 rifle, two magazines, forty-two rounds of ammunition and porches at the Ifo area in Dadaab sub county,” NPS stated on Saturday.

Police commended the public for providing the information that led to the recovery of the firearm.

The two suspects are in police custody awaiting arraignment in court.
