NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 23 – Members of the public have been urged to help identify a woman who was killed and her body parts dumped in Umoja Estate in Nairobi.
The woman’s head, hands and legs were found late Monday and taken to the City Mortuary but the torso has not been located.
Police have concluded that the woman was most likely killed in a house within the estate before the body parts were stuffed in a polythene bag and dumped near Fadhili Primary School.
“From the look of things, the killer or killers must have used a hacksaw or a very sharp object,” a senior police officer at the Buruburu Police Station said.
The officer in charge of investigations in Buruburu division Jeremiah Ikiao said no suspect had been arrested and urged the public to also volunteer any information they have to help in the investigations.
“We were called to the scene by residents who discovered the body parts and we took them away,” he said. No suspect has been arrested.
He said they have taken finger prints to help identify the deceased woman from the registration of persons department.
Police were also investigating if the killing is connected to any cult.
