Nyeri Bus Stage in Buzz as Swam of Bees Causes Panic

NYERI, Kenya, Nov 2 – Dramatic scenes unfolded at the Nyeri bus stage on Wednesday when a swarm of bees descended upon a matatu plying the Nyeri-Nanyuki route, sparking panic among operators and passengers.

The bizarre incident took place in the afternoon as passengers were boarding a matatu belonging to Nanyuki Cab Services, triggering commotion among the crowd.

Operators quickly attempted to move the affected vehicle away from the bay, hoping to dislodge the persistent bees. To their astonishment, the bees clung to the next matatu in line, disregarding the efforts to remove them.

Despite the unsettling situation, the operators soon realized that the bees were not behaving aggressively. They refrained from stinging anyone and could even be handled without causing harm, eventually restoring a sense of normalcy.

According to some operators, the peculiar swarm of bees may have been related to a dispute with an elderly passenger, suggesting that the insects were sent as a form of witchcraft. The passenger in question had reportedly sought a refund of his fare, which the stage managers had allegedly denied, leading to further complications.

“We suspect that these insects were dispatched by an elderly man to whom they had refused a fare refund. He was compelled to pay an additional fare and utilize the services of another bus company,” explained one of the touts.

However, these claims could not be independently verified.
