NAIVASHA, Kenya, Mar 31 – There was drama at the home of slain interior designer, Jeff Mwathi when police attempted to kick out the media.
When the media stood it’s ground the investigaters packed their tools, removed the cordones and ignited their vehicles ready to abandon the exhumation exercise.
This when resident blocked them and insisted that the exhumation and postmortem must be conducted as planned.
They asked the investigators why they did not want the media at the event.
The investigating team which includes government pathologist, Johansen Oduor resumed their work as the media and residents watched from a distance.
The pathologist promised to give a report to the media once they were through with the exercise.
Mwathi died on February 22 from what was then believed to be suicide.
However, The Inspector General of police, Japhet Koome ordered and exhumation, postmortem and further investigation because the police had identified gaps in the story.
Musician Samuel Muchoki famously known as Samidoh was present during the exhumation at Mwathi’s home in Likia area of Njoro Sub-County, Nakuru.
He is the uncle to Mwathi.
