, NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 2 – Three suspects who were arrested for making fake currencies valued at Sh1 billion are expected in court on Tuesday.
The men who include two Chad nationals and a Kenyan were arrested from a house in Westlands where they were repackaging the money.
“Today on 1/10/2018 at about 1530hrs following a tip from members of the public, flying squad officers under command of MR MUSA YEGO in charge flying squad Nairobi together with officers from spring valley police station raided sandalwood apartment within Lower Kabete along Brookside Drive and managed to arrest two foreigners namely ABDOULAYE TAMBA, ABDALLA TAMBA and one Kenyan who is their Driver namely ANTONY MWANGANGI,” the police report stated.
“Police officers also managed to recover fake foreign currency in dollars and Euros of approximately above a billion. Officers still at the scene progress report to follow.”
Police say they are looking for more suspects into the incident.
The raid was led by officers from the Flying Squad who were accompanied by those from the Spring Valley police Station.
