Speaking when he addressed a series of political rallies enroute to Gatundu where he registered as a voter on Saturday, the deputy premier pointed out that he will respect the coalition’s choice of presidential candidate after the nomination exercise.
“We are saying that we will pass through the nomination process so that party members can choose the person they so wish to lead the flag of the Jubilee Coalition. It is important that we as Kenyans should speak with one voice. We have the intention and the will to work for Kenyans,” he said.
Legal teams under the Jubilee Coalition on Friday agreed on a college system for presidential nominations in which the three member parties will have 20 delegates drawn from each county.
The committee agreed that voting will be done by secret ballot but decided to co-opt positions of expected new entrants to the coalition.

Sources told Capital FM News that committee members drafting the deal included former anti-corruption boss Aaron Ringera, Mandera Central MP Abdikadir Mohammed and Laikipia West MP Nderitu Muriithi.
Other are legal officers and Jubilee members Jasper Mbiuki, David Chirchir, Fred Ngatia and Kipchumba Murkomen.
He assured his supporters that the TNA-URP and UDF political alliance is the best, and only sure way to clinch the presidency next year.
Uhuru later addressed a major political rally at Gatundu stadium where his main focus was on the nomination process to determine who between him and UDF’s Mudavadi will be on the ballot.
Some TNA MPs have threatened to walk out of Uhuru’s party unless he sticks to the earlier pledge of being on the Presidential race to square it out with his main rival Prime Minister Raila Odinga who was endorsed on Friday by ODM to contest.
Uhuru further refuted claims that the coalition was based on tribal groupings, stating that it had the interests of the entire nation at heart.
“Every leader has comer from a particular tribe. Is it bad when we come together so that we can serve Kenyans? Raila and Kalonzo have come together haven’t they? Should we call that a tribal grouping since they are of two different tribes?” he posed.
“It is important that we desist from inciting Kenyans along tribal lines. Let us sell our agenda to them and then they will decide through a vote who they want to lead them,” he said.
He further emphasised that the coalition’s main agenda will be to preach peace and unity to all Kenyans.
“We now have a union of three parties, TNA, URP and UDF. The agenda that we are pushing forward is one, that we will ensure that there will be peace and unity through out our entire nation without looking at a person’s skin colour, tribe or religious affiliation,” he explained.
