Tusker set to complete swoop for Nzoia Sugar duo as rebuild continues

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 21 – FKF Premier League side Tusker FC are set to complete a swoop for Nzoia Sugar’s duo of James Kibande and Joseph Mwangi, after an agreement was reached with their club.

The two have been long-term targets for the Brewers and were on the verge of sealing a move to Ruaraka at the start of last season – alongside midfielder Kevin Juma – but made an eleventh hour about turn.

But now, all seems to be in place for the two to join the brewers.

Kibande had returned to Nzoia on loan after an unsuccessful half-season stint with Kenya Police FC.

The brewers are looking to firm up their squad with an imminent rebuild as several senior players are set to leave the club.

Among those who have already left Tusker include Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge, Ugandan striker Deogratious Ojok, right back Kevin Monyi and goalkeeper Michael Wanjala whose contracts have already lapsed.

Also set to leave the club is midfielder Shami Mwinyi whose contract is also coming to an end, while the fate of senior players Jackson Macharia and Humphrey Mieno also hangs in the balance.

The brewers are set for a radical surgery after a disastrous end to last season, where they lost the league title on the last day as well as the FKF Cup to Kakamega Homeboyz.
