The 25-year-old has not featured for the Citizens since early March after suffering a series of hamstring problems, and Pellegrini revealed earlier in the week that he would not be risking the Argentina international in Saturday’s clash with Southampton.
And the player himself echoed the words of his manager by insisting he would not rush his return to action, with one on the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.
As such, Aguero looks set to make his long-awaited return when Liverpool play host to the Citizens on Sunday, April 13.
Pellegrini said: “We hope, with one week more working, he will be perfect to play against Liverpool.
“Sergio is very important for us in every game.
“It is a pity he can’t arrive 100 per cent now for Southampton because, I repeat, we are not thinking about Liverpool (yet), we are thinking about Southampton.
“But of course he will be very useful for us because he is a top player and he makes a difference.
“Sergio has been very unlucky this season with his injuries, but I hope from now until the end of the season he will play regularly without any problem.”
