Wanyama, Celtic Young Player of the Year

wanyama NAIROBI, Kenya 29th April – Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama was crowned the Celtic Young Player of the Year at a ceremony held in Glasgow Sunday night.

The award marks the excellent success story that Wanyama has turned to be in the Scottish premier league.

More accolades await Wanyama as he has also been nominated for the Scotland Young player of the year Award along with Dundee’s Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay

Wanyama put in a remarkable performance this season that saw his club winning a second consecutive SPL title this term.

Speculation has been mounting about the 21-year-old will leaving Parkhead this summer despite his Celtic contract having two more years to run with a host of English Premier League clubs such as champions-in-waiting, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool keen on his signature.

In the same awards, Greek striker Georgios Samaras was voted the Player of the year 2012/13 while Gary Hooper scooped the Top Goalscorer of the Season Award for a third consecutive year.

The Celtic squad also voted for their Player of the Year, and that award went to goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, while the Celtic fans choose Tony Watt´s dramatic winner against Barcelona back in November as the Celtic Goal of the Season.
