NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 3- Candidates contesting in the Bungoma Senate by-election slated on December 8, 2022, have been urged to conduct peaceful and agenda-based campaigns.
Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula noted that Kenya has come through a vigorous election season and that it was time for all Kenyans to unite and build the nation in order to uplift the economy in the country.
The Bungoma Senatorial Seat fell vacant in September 2022 after Wetangula resigned following his election to the National Assembly as Speaker.
While addressing the press in Bungoma County, the Speaker called upon Kenyans to observe a peaceful festive season acknowledging that the country is going through hard economic times particularly drought in the northeastern region due to the recent long dry spell.
Wetangula who is also the FORD-Kenya leader is expected to lead campaigns to drum up support for his party’s candidate Wafula Wakoli.
