Chinese in slur video against Kenyans arrested, deported

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 6 – A Chinese national who was captured on video making racist comments against Kenyans has been arrested.

Sources in the Interior Ministry say the Chinese man was arrested Wednesday night and was deported on Thursday morning.

The Immigration Department said that it had revoked his work permit and wanted him sent to his home country.

“Chinese National by the name Liu Jiaqi who was captured on video yesterday using abusive words has been arrested. His work permit has been canceled and will be deported on racism grounds,” the Immigration Department has said on its Twitter page.

In the video clip that went viral, the man is heard referring to Kenyans in derogatory terms.
