MOMBASA, Kenya, Jan 8 – Police have arrested a wanted terror suspect allegedly behind a series of killings targeting security agents in Mombasa.

Ikrima Shosi was arrested at a popular nightclub Thursday night by detectives who had been trailing him for months.

He has been handed over to Anti-Terrorism Police officers for interrogation and profiling.

Ikrima is believed to be behind the murder of Hashim Omar, a senior National Intelligence Service officer in Mombasa in July last year.

He is brother to Ismail Shosi who escaped Monday night’s raid at a house in Majengo where a cache of weapons was seized by recce squad officers.

Police say the gangs were behind the systematic killings of security agents and suspected State informers in Bondeni and Old Town Mombasa.
