Kihika Calls for Unity, Warns Against Divisive Politics in Nakuru

Kihika emphasized that peaceful coexistence and inclusivity remain key to the county’s social and economic progress.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 1 – Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has cautioned leaders from neighboring counties against engaging in divisive politics, warning that such actions could undermine unity in the cosmopolitan county.

Speaking during a public engagement, Kihika said Nakuru’s diverse population must not be split along ethnic lines for political gain.

She emphasized that peaceful coexistence and inclusivity remain key to the county’s social and economic progress.

The governor noted that Nakuru hosts communities from across the country and plays a critical role in national cohesion.

She urged political leaders to exercise restraint and promote unity, especially as political activities intensify.

Kihika reiterated her administration’s commitment to fostering harmony and called on residents to reject leaders who thrive on ethnic division, saying development can only be achieved in an environment of peace and mutual respect.
