NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 15 – Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Friday witnessed the signing of performance contracts by Senior Interior ministry officials at Harambee House, Nairobi.
The officials include; Principal Secretaries Raymond Omollo (Internal Security and National Administration) and Salome Muhia-Beacco (Correctional Services), Commissioner General of Prisons Brigadier (Rtd) John Warioba, Eight (8) Regional Commissioners and Heads of Departments and units
Speaking after the event, CS Kindiki stated that President William Ruto is clear on performance of all Government agencies and their role in the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“This administration will be taking performance very seriously. Your responsibility is to ensure that the pressure that is being exerted on you to perform you exert it downwards to those that are working under you,” Kindiki said.
He pointed out that the signing of performance contracts is not a ritual, but a serious undertaking in execution of individual and collective mandate as the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
Kindiki said that the terms and content in the contracts were negotiated with each officer and hence, all the targets must be achieved.
The Ministry’s success is the collective responsibility of all officers and the performance contracts.
He added that the evidence of performance must be captured and will form part of the evaluation of performance by all state agencies and departments in the Ministry.
Kindiki assured the government officials assured them of his support to succeed in their roles
“In the unlikely event that you find challenges along of achieving part of or some of the commitments that you need to achieve my office is open, the PSSs will give you the support that you require,” he said.
