20-yr-old Kisii University Student arrested for impersonating KCSE student

KISII, Kenya, Mar 14 – A twenty-year-old Kisii University student has been arrested as he masqueraded as a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations candidate.

According to police, the suspect will be charged with impersonation following his arrest at the Kiamabundu Mixed Secondary school in Nyaribari Chache.

Angwenyi Brian Nyakeri was sitting the national examinations for Nyamweya James Martin who registered at a private center which was hosted by Kiamabundu secondary for the national examination.

Angwenyi was arrested while sitting for English paper one which was ongoing.

Kisii central sub county police commander Peter kimani said police officers from kisii central police station were alerted after the invigilator, supervisors and security officers suspected him of impersonation.

“The suspect was arrested and taken to kisii police station where he is recording a statement and he will be taken to court tomorrow,” said Kisii OCPD.

The OCPD warned anyone with ill intentions of examination cheating and said they are on high alert to deal with them.
