NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 21 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Wangui Elizabeth Muchiri as a representative of the National Police Service Commission to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

The nomination of Muchiri to the Lyn Mengich-led Commission was relayed before the National Assembly by the Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi in Tuesday’s special sitting.

Consequently, Cheboi directed the departmental committee on Finance and National Planning to undertake the necessary approval hearings for Muchiri.

The House will resume its sittings from the long Christmas break on January 25, 2022 meaning the statutory timeline for the Committee to submit its report will be on February 22, 2022.

If approved by the House, Muchiri will join 12 other commissioners in the commission that sets, reviews and advice on equitable, competitive and fiscally sustainable remuneration and benefits in the public sector
