Pressure At The Summit As Police Bullets Lead FKF WPL Into Round 11

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 10 — The FKF Women’s Premier League returns this weekend with a packed Round 11 schedule as teams across the table look to strengthen their positions heading into the second phase of the season.

League leaders Kenya Police Bullets will be under the spotlight on Sunday when they travel to Kisumu to face Soccer Assassins at Nyang’ori Grounds.

Fresh from reclaiming the top spot, the Bullets know that any slip-up could be costly with Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets in close pursuit. The fixture presents a stern test against an Assassins side that has shown resilience at home and will be keen to upset the league’s pace-setters.

Second-placed Vihiga Queens will also be on the road as they take on bottom-placed Kisumu AllStarlets at Moi Stadium, Kisumu. While the Queens go into the tie as clear favourites, they cannot afford complacency as they chase maximum points to keep pressure on Police Bullets in the tightly contested title race.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Trinity Starlets will host Gideon Starlets at Comboni Grounds in Gilgil.

Trinity remain firmly in the top-four conversation and will be looking to capitalise against a Gideon side battling to climb away from the lower half of the table. A win for Trinity could prove crucial as the race for continental places gathers momentum.

Bungoma Queens welcome Ulinzi Starlets at Bungoma Polytechnic Grounds in another intriguing Sunday encounter. Ulinzi, one of the most consistent sides this season, will be eager to stay within touching distance of the summit, while Bungoma Queens will be targeting a strong home performance to boost their mid-table standing.

Round 11 action gets underway on Saturday with two fixtures in Nairobi. Kibera Soccer Women host KISPED Queens at Marist University in Karen, with both sides desperate for points to steady their campaigns. KISPED, still searching for consistency, will be keen to bounce back after recent setbacks.

At Zetech University’s Mangu Campus, Zetech Sparks FC face Kayole Starlet FC in what promises to be a competitive mid-table clash. Both teams remain within striking distance of the top half, and a win could significantly shape their ambitions for the remainder of the season.

With the league table finely balanced and margins increasingly slim, Round 11 promises decisive moments at both ends of the table as teams push for titles, top-four finishes, and survival.
