NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 30 – Magical Kenya Open 2026 has confirmed invitations for Kenyan Pros and Amateurs ahead of the event slated for Karen Country Club from February 19 to 22.
Leading the charge for the 10 Kenyan pros is Equator Order of Merit winner Greg Snow, Railways’ Samuel Chege, winner of the Equator Tour Finale David Wakhu, Sunshine Development Tour Order of Merit champion Njoroge Kibugu, old boy Dismas Indiza, Mutah Kibugu, Daniel Nduva, Edwin Mudanyi and CJ Wangai, who is also the Chairman of Professional Golfers of Kenya-PGK.
The 10 Kenyan pros will be joined by regional professionals Celestin Nsanzuwera and Nigerian Epe Francis, who qualified from the Sunshine Development Tour.

Nsanzuwera is set to make history as the first Rwandese pro to grace the European Tour (now DP World Tour) Kenya Open. Rwandese golfers have previously played in the Kenya Open during the European Challenge Tour days.
But the Kenya Open was upgraded to European Tour status in 2019, the same year Simon Ngige and Jastas Madoya made the cut.
This year’s Magical Kenya Open tournament is part of the DP World Tour event calendar for professional golfers worldwide. The tournament attracts approximately 15,000 spectators from within Kenya and over 10,000 foreign golfing enthusiasts during the four days of the event.
Beyond the sport, the Magical Kenya Open delivers significant economic impact. The event is projected to inject over USD 5 million directly into the Kenyan economy, providing a major boost to tourism and supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Hotels in Nairobi and surrounding areas are already reporting high booking levels ahead of the tournament.

The selection process for invitation to participate in the Magical Kenya Open is competitive and transparent, guided by the standards, rules, and principles established by our partners, DP World Tour. These guidelines mean that those who qualify for the tournament meet the required merits and cut-offs, ensuring that the field quality remains at a high level, which is a priority for all parties.
The 2026 event will feature a field of 144 players, comprising a mix of Kenyan professional golfers, Kenyan amateur golfers, regional professional golfers and international professional golfers representing approximately over 25 countries.
This year’s Kenya Open will also feature elite amateurs and juniors, namely Michael Karanga, Lejirma John, Jay Sandhu, Shashwat Harish and Junaid Manji.
Reserve professional players include Mohit Mediratta, Kenya Railways’ Mike Kisia, Eric Ooko, John Karichu, and Isaiah Otuke.
The final amateur slot will be awarded to the best-placed Kenyan player at the Africa Amateur Championship, scheduled to take place from February 4-7 in South Africa.
