KISII, Kenya Nov 10 – Authorities in Kisii have launched an investigation into the chilling murder of a 23-year-old woman who was a student at Kisii National Polytechnic.
The victim, identified as Lucy Boke, a first-year student, met a tragic end as she was brutally killed by her boyfriend in the evening at Jogoo Estate, located on the outskirts of Kisii town.
Boke, who was also a mother to a nine-month-old baby, had been pursuing a course in beauty and therapy at Kisii Polytechnic. She had been residing in a house near Green Valley Primary School for the past three months.
Eyewitnesses recount that her boyfriend, who had traveled from Kuria in Migori County, arrived at approximately 6:00 pm and launched a brutal attack on Boke, resulting in her untimely demise.
“It’s truly disheartening; this student suffered a horrific death with numerous deep wounds all over her body, making her final moments agonizing,” said Ann Ongeri.
Mrs. Ongeri further revealed that the boyfriend had locked himself inside the house following the gruesome act, leaving the reasons behind the tragic incident shrouded in mystery.
In response to the incident, students from Kisii Polytechnic rushed to the scene, gaining access to the house and subjecting the alleged perpetrator to a severe beating, causing him serious injuries.
“Students from Kisii Polytechnic arrived at the scene and confronted Lucy’s boyfriend, resulting in significant injuries,” recounted an eyewitness.
Isaac Kimwele, the Kisii Central Sub-county police commander, officially confirmed the incident. He explained that the victim had a prior relationship with the accused and that the latter had arrived with unidentified individuals, sparking a quarrel that escalated into violence.
“The lifeless body of the deceased was discovered on the floor, and the police were able to retrieve a bloodstained knife from the scene,” the sub-county commander disclosed.
The police promptly transported the victim’s body to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, while the accused was admitted to the same hospital for treatment.
Authorities are diligently investigating this tragic incident to unravel the circumstances surrounding Lucy Boke’s senseless murder.
