NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 28 – Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Wednesday once again attracted large crowds as he distributed bursary forms to residents of Utawala, continuing his push to support access to education for students from vulnerable families.
Just like the previous day, residents turned up in big numbers, with many parents and students hoping to benefit from the education support programme.
Speaking during the exercise, Babu said the bursary forms represented more than financial help, describing them as opportunities for children whose education is threatened by lack of school fees.
“These bursary forms are not just papers. They are doors. They are second chances,” he said. “They are a declaration that every child matters and that poverty should never silence potential.”
The MP emphasised that education remained the most powerful tool for changing lives and lifting communities out of poverty, adding that talent should always be given a chance to shine regardless of background.
The Utawala exercise came a day after Babu distributed bursary forms to residents of Soweto in Lower Savannah Ward and Donholm, as part of the same education support initiative.
On Tuesday, Babu told residents in Soweto that the programme was aimed at helping students from vulnerable households stay in school and pursue their dreams without being held back by lack of fees.
“Education is the strongest foundation we can give our children and our community,” he said. “It opens doors to opportunity, builds confidence, and empowers young people to dream beyond their circumstances.”
