Raila says ODM hasn’t adopted any resolution on 2027 poll, alliances

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 22 – The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) says it has not adopted any resolution with regard to the 2027 elections or alliances with other parties.

Speaking during the party’s Parliamentary Group meeting in Nairobi, party leader Raila Odinga urged members to instead wait for the appointed time when decisions will be made.

Further, he underscored the need for focus to be on service delivery and implementation of agreements reached with the government.

“Stand for what is right for the party and look at what you have signed and remain as an ardent member. We have signed that we will work together until 2027, but have not passed any resolution as a party to say how we are going into the election of 2027,” he stated.

“Who told you that ODM does not have a candidate in 2027? We have a clear plan we are implementing.”

He stated that ODM’s cooperation with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) began when some members joined the government informally in an agreement that was later formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Odinga opined that the arrangement has stabilised the country and reduced political confrontations that could drag the nation to chaos.
