All passengers evacuated after Malindi bound bus razed

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 4 – A bus that was bound for Malindi has burst into flames and was burnt to ashes Sunday morning.

According to police, the bus that belonged to Tahmeed was razed on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, a few kilometers from Voi town.

Officers have not yet established the cause of the fire but confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated.

“Fortunately all 48 passengers on board were evacuated safely and promptly .We are grateful for the swift action that ensured everyone’s safety. Our teams assisted these passengers with completing their journey on alternative buses,” the bus company said.

The incident occurred around 4 am on Sunday as the bus was en route from Kitale to Malindi, with the fire breaking out near the Voi area.
