Watch her drop the name of Jesus, Duale says over Waiguru NYS claim

NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 24 – “I have no intention to sue you, your place is at the Kamiti Maximum Prison” – was the response Aden Duale gave to claims in an affidavit by former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru, in connection with the loss of Sh791 million from the National Youth Service (NYS).

In her own ‘tell-all’ affidavit, Waiguru on Tuesday turned the guns on fellow Jubilee Coalition heavyweights Duale, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Deputy President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant, Farouk Kibet.

Waiguru has accused the three of threatening her and former NYS Assistant Director Adan Harakhe in an attempt to cover up, “double billing, payments for non-delivered goods and an outrageous inflation of prices,” at the National Youth Service.

But Duale who addressed a news conference Wednesday alone – unlike in previous occasions where he is flanked by MPs mostly from Nairobi and Central Kenya – vowed to take the battle to the feet of the lady he last year pulled all stops to defend, including whipping fellow Jubilee MPs to withdraw signatures from an impeachment motion filed by Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter.

The Garissa Township MP said he would not be put off by a perception that the former Cabinet Secretary was in the good books with highly placed individuals in government.

“Anne Waiguru you can run, you can hide, you can look for human shields like Honourable Duale and the rest but we are telling you, your place is in Kamiti Maximum Prison. Whether your friends are in the highest of the highest office; whether you come from a certain part of the country that is not an issue now,” Duale declared.

Duale said he had taken a sabbatical from attacking CORD and campaigning ahead of upcoming by-elections to focus his energies on Waiguru.

“I want to tell her for free you have touched a livewire, in fact I will go for Anne Waiguru starting today. I will go on a sabbatical leave from CORD, Kericho and Malindi by-elections and I am ready to deal with one woman who stole millions of shillings and now has a psychiatric condition looking for anyone on sight to use as a human shield, instead of looking for the best lawyer in town,” he stated.

Duale would not however confirm or deny if he had met or talked with Harakhe, saying he wanted to hear that accusation from him before responding.

He simply said the claims by Waiguru were a “weak attempt to rock the Jubilee Coalition.”

“What Anne Waiguru is trying to do is to sell a narrative that one side or the other in the Jubilee Coalition led to her sacking. If you add the dots you will see where the last dot goes. I am telling Anne Waiguru that she needs a lawyer not a human shield and I will not be one,” Duale said.

He said Waiguru should cease the theatrics she is engaging in and “carry her own cross.”
