Wainaina says KANU still strong, solid, not moved by defections

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 16 – New Kenya African National Union (KANU) Secretary General George Wainaina has downplayed the move by Nick Salat’ to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Speaking during a press conference Thursday, Wainainia stated that the party remains strong despite defections.

The Party’s First Vice-Chairman Ibrahim Sheikh accused Salat of misrepresenting the Party for personal interests.

Salat resigned from KANU party’ in February, weeks after he was suspended through a unanimous decision by the party’s National Executive Council over alleged gross misconduct.
