Harambee Stars defender in line for life-changing move to England

NAIROBI, Kenya, January 28, 2026 – Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje is edging closer to a move to Championship side Charlton Athletic.

Reports in England indicate that the Serbian-based defender is only a medical away from signing for the Addicks who were promoted from League One last season.

According to Charlton Bible, an authoritative website dedicated to covering the club, Sichenje will be sold for close to approximately Ksh 293 million (1 million Euros) by his current club FK Vojvodina.

Sichenje honed his playing skills at Kakamega High School’s Green Commandos before joining AFC Leopards in 2019.

Following a stellar stint with the felines, Sichenje was off to Greece to ink a deal with PAOK B in 2021 where he spent a year before signing for Swedish giants AIK.

His time at AIK was not fruitful, hence a loan move to Finnish side KuPs.

The centreback then signed a three-year-deal with Serbian side FK Vojvodina, for who he made 52 appearances before Charlton came calling.

Sichenje will fancy his chances at the Addicks who are grappling with a relegation battle in which they lie 19th with 32 points, just above the drop zone.

He will be expected to help plug a leaky defence that has so far conceded 38 goals in 28 games.
