SEOUL — A fire broke out after an explosion at a thermal power plant in southwestern South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported Tuesday.
It was reported to the fire authorities at about 2:43 pm local time (0543 GMT) that the fire broke out with a loud bang at the thermal power plant in Taean, around 150 km southwest of the capital Seoul.
An unnamed fire official was quoted as saying that firefighters and equipment were dispatched to the scene.
