Police uncover fuel siphoning racket at a home in Kisumu’s Lolwe area

The siphoning operation attracted the curiosity of residents in Lolwe who arrived at the location to scoop fuel prompting a police response at 7pm on Monday.

KISUMU, Kenya, Sep 5 — Police in Kisumu has unearthed fuel siponing along Nairobi Kisumu pipeline.

The siphoning operation attracted the curiosity of residents in Lolwe who arrived at the location to scoop fuel prompting a police response at 7pm on Monday.

The police then discovered an underground tank full of fuel was discovered in a home nearby.

Inside the room, a generator, fire extinguisher and other equipment were recovered.

Occupants of the house were reported to have fled when locals started scooping the overflowing fuel believed to be petrol.
