Natembeya, Wanga best performing Governors – Infotrak survey

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 31 -Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya and Gladys Wanga for Homabay county have been ranked the top performing governors in a latest survey released by Info Trak on Tuesday.

Natembeya and Wanga both tied at 70 percent followed closely by West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin with 67 percent.

Kisii governor Simba Arati ,Irungu Kang’ata(Murang’a),Jeremiah Lomurkai (Turkana) and Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo followed at forth position among the top 25 list of the performing governors  in 2023 at 64 per cent.

Other governors that made it to the top according to the survey report conducted between the month of July and August 2023 is Elgeyo Marakwet county Governor Wisley Rotich both tying at 63 per cent with the Embattled Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza whose second impeachment motion is set to be determined by the senate.

“New first term governors including Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza are performing very well and topping the list according to the survey report data,” said Infotrak Chief Executive Officer Angela Ambitho.

The survey poll also rated governor Gladys Wanga (Homabay)George Natembeya (Trans Nzoia)Kawira Mwangaza (Meru), Jonathan Lelelit (Samburu) and Julius Malombe of Kitui county in the top 5 list of the most improved governors since assumption of office.

“A lot of women governors are doing well because the majority of female governors are leading in the list of top 25 performing governors.They are quite effective as administrators,”Ambitho added.

In the coastal region region Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir,Gideon Mung’aro(Kilifi) and Fatuma Achani (Kwale) took the lead while Mandera  governor  Mohamed Adan Khalif, Nathif Jama (Garissa) and Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir) toped from the North Eastern region.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo (Makueni) , Kawira Mwangaza (Meru) and Julius Malombe(Makueni) topped the list of performing governors in the Eastern region.

In the Central region Murang’a governor Irungu Kang’ata,Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga ) and Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) were rated the top 3 performing governors in the region.

Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya,Simon Kachapin (West Pokot) Jeremiah Lomurkai (Turkana) ,Wilson Rotich (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Patrick Ole Ntutu (Narok) lead the pack of top performing governors in Rift valley region.

Homabay governor Gladys Wanga, Simba Arati (Kisii), and Anyang’ Nyong’o(Kisumu) also took the lead in the Nyanza region.

In Western region, Ken Lusaka (Bungoma) county Vihiga governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo and Fernandes Barasa of Kakamega were also ranked as top 3 in their region according to the survey report.

“Repeat Governors including Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o OF Kisumu, Ann Waiguru(Kirinyaga) and Muthomi Njuki of Tharaka Nithi also performed well.They seem to  have the same zeal and committed to work for the people,” Ambitho explained.
