China urges U.S. to ‘genuinely’ resolve Ukraine crisis via negotiation

China is neither a creator nor a party to the crisis in Ukraine, but an advocate of a political solution to the crisis and a promoter of peace talks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Thursday.

Pointing out that China has no political self-interest and is sincerely committed to promoting peace talks, Wang said China hopes the U.S. side will correct its anti-peace words and deeds and work with the international community to genuinely commit to promoting a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine through dialogue and negotiation.

Without any political interest or geopolitical manipulation, China sincerely promotes peace talks, which reveals the great country’s responsibility. We hope the U.S. side could truly dedicate themselves to solving the Ukraine crisis, Wang said.

As State Councillor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang pointed out, individual countries are trying to obstruct the efforts of peace talks, and have even concocted various rumors and false arguments to attack and smear China, but justice lies in the hearts of the people, the spokesperson said.

While China is promoting peace, the U.S. announced that it would provide another $350 million in weapons and equipment. The world can see for itself who is handing out knives and fires and who is urging peace and talks, the spokesperson said.
