NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 5 – Two people, among them the bodyguard to Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula, were killed in an accident that occurred in Nairobi’s Karen suburb Wednesday night.

The MP told Capital FM News that he had just been dropped home and released the driver to drop his bodyguard, his son’s friend and another lad from the neighbourhood when the accident occurred.

The 17-year-old friend to his son is among the dead.

“It is very unfortunate we lost two people in the accident and two are admitted to hospital,” Savula told Capital FM News on telephone on Thursday morning.

His neighbour’s son and the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser V8 are admitted to the MP Shah Hospital in critical condition.

The MP said he was called to the scene by a witness and police, with reports that his vehicle had rolled several times while speeding.

“I had just been dropped home at about midnight and my driver was going to drop my bodyguard in Embakasi. They went with the two boys, one who is my son’s friend and a neighbour’s son,” he said.

“Minutes later I was called that my vehicle has rolled while on high speed at Karen Shopping Centre.”

The bodyguard and the boy died instantly while the driver and the other boy suffered serious injuries and are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police are probing the accident.
