Police open probe on murders in Nairobi, Nakuru after discovery of body parts

Elsewhere, police in Nakuru reported the recovery of partial human remains near Mau Summit Mosque area.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22 — Detectives in Nairobi have initiated probe into the tragic death of a 25-year-old woman whose body was discovered in Embakasi, Nairobi.

A police report said the victim’s lifeless body was found discarded in a sack within makeshift structures in Embakasi’s Kware area on Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The discovery was made when two police officers, conducting a routine patrol in the Stage Mpya vicinity, were alerted by members of the public about the suspicious sack.

“The Sub-County Police Commander (S.C.P.C), DCIO Embakasi and Duty Officer Kware visited the scene and found a naked body of unknown female adult aged approximately 25 years having been strangled, murdered,” the report read in part.

The police said the victim’s mouth, eyes and limbs had been bound using pieces of clothing and stuffed in the sack.

Preliminary investigations revealed strangulation marks on the victim’s neck, accompanied by bloodstains on the nose and ears.

The crime scene was processed and documented by Scene of Crime personnel based in Embakasi.

The victim’s body was transferred to the City Mortuary, pending identification and autopsy.

Elsewhere, police in Nakuru reported the recovery of partial human remains near Mau Summit Mosque area.

The incident was reported by the Assistant Chief of Sarambei Sub-location.

Police officers from Mau Summit Police Station under the command of the SCPC and Stapol Mau-Sammit Police Station rushed to the scene and found half lower body remains of unknown female adult dumped near the banks of a seasonal stream flowing near the Mosque at Total Fly-over Interchange.

A reported suggested the recovered remains could be part of previously recovered body parts on November 9.

The scene was photographed, processed and the remains removed to Molo Hospital Mortuary for preservation and identification.
