I&M Bank opens new branches in Kapsabet, Mombasa

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 8 – I&M Bank has opened two new branches in Kapsabet, Nandi County, and Nyali, Mombasa County, raising its network to 65 outlets across 24 counties.

The Kapsabet branch will target Nandi’s agricultural value chains, tapping into tea, maize, and dairy farming, as well as a growing base of small enterprises in the North Rift.

“Kapsabet town serves as a vital agricultural and commercial hub for the North Rift region. I&M Bank’s presence here is a demonstration of our commitment to being where our customers need us most,” said Shameer Patel, Director of Retail Business Banking at I&M Bank Kenya.

The outlet will also feature digital banking integration and specialized products such as agribusiness financing, equipment loans, and value chain credit facilities.

The lender has been on an aggressive branch rollout, having added ten outlets earlier this year in Mtwapa, Kawangware, ABC Mall, Kenol, Meru Makutano, Embu, Kericho, Bungoma, Kakamega, and Mwea.

Patel noted that I&M’s expansion model is data-driven, focusing on underserved but high-potential markets.

“Kapsabet represents significant opportunities to support local economic development while expanding our customer base in strategic markets.”

The bank is also aligning new branches with its sustainability agenda, offering green financing solutions and promoting financial inclusion.

I&M said it will later this month open another outlet in Mombasa County to boost its coastal presence and tap into trade flows through the port city.
