Otsyula takes over from Rashid Mohamed and will oversee financing and maintenance of the country’s road network through the Road Maintenance Levy Fund managed by KRB.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 17 – The Kenya Roads Board (KRB) has appointed Mrs. Judith K. Otsyula as its new Director General, making her the first woman to hold the position.

KRB said Otsyula was selected following a competitive recruitment process.

Board Chairperson Aisha Jumwa said Otsyula brings over two decades of senior leadership experience in infrastructure development, strategic programme management and institutional governance.

“She brings a proven track record of delivering transformative infrastructure initiatives and strengthening public sector institutions to achieve sustainable national development,” Jumwa said.

Otsyula takes over from Rashid Mohamed and will oversee financing and maintenance of the country’s road network through the Road Maintenance Levy Fund managed by KRB.

The Board expressed confidence that under her leadership, the agency will strengthen its mandate and advance sustainable road financing and development.
