NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 8 – Kenya has taken a giant leap into the future of last-mile services with the official launch of Errand App, the country’s first locally developed platform designed to simplify daily errands while creating new opportunities for thousands.
Bridging the gap between users and a network of reliable errand runners, the app offers innovative, real-time solutions, whether by foot, motorbike, tuktuk, bicycle, or even traditional handcarts
Serving Nairobi and beyond, the app targets to redefine how Kenyans manage their daily errands.
The platform enables users to save time, avoid traffic, and boost productivity by facilitating tasks such as shopping, parcel delivery, bill payments, and essentials pickup. Equipped with real-time tracking and secure payments, Errand App taps into a growing network of professional errand runners. It also represents a broader vision: creating jobs, unlocking income opportunities, and empowering thousands of Kenyan youth seeking flexible, digital ways to earn.
CEO Vivian Keyaer emphasized, “Today is not just a celebration of a new app. It is a celebration of possibility, purpose, and progress. We started this journey with a simple question: How do we make everyday life easier… and in the same breath, open more opportunities for Kenyans to earn a living? Well, we didn’t just answer that question, we coded it.”
The launch event at United Kenya Club brought together media, logistics partners, and some of the app’s earliest errand runners who shared inspiring stories reflecting the transformation from informal street logistics to digital innovation, an authentic celebration of local brilliance.
“We understand the pain of forgotten items, last-minute errands, and urgent payments all too well,” Keyaer continued. “That’s why, with just a few taps, you can now delegate your tasks and track them in real time, no panic, no excuses. But let me speak about something even more important than tech: This platform is part of a bigger vision to create jobs, unlock income streams, and empower thousands of youths across the country. We all know the hustle is real. Young people across Kenya are looking for flexible and digital ways to earn a living. Errand App is our answer to that call.”
Errand App is proudly Kenyan, built by Kenyans for Kenyans. It is designed not only to deliver convenience for users but also dignity for workers and efficiency for businesses. “Importantly, we didn’t have to import brilliance, we found it right here,” Keyaer added.
“Our runners are not just couriers; they are entrepreneurs on the move. Every completed errand isn’t just a job well done, it’s a livelihood built, an experience gained, and a door opened. From riders to walkers, from bicycles to tuktuks, we are building an economy of movement that includes everyone,” she explained.
Having already commenced training and onboarding dozens of errand runners in this soft launch phase, the company’s ambition is clear: “Thousands of jobs. Across 47 counties. In every town, estate, and community that needs us.”
“We believe this is what African innovation should look like: Not just sleek and smart, but also socially responsive and inclusive,” Keyaer concluded.
Errand App is now live and available for download on Google Play.
