CS Muturi pledges support for Huduma Kenya at Managers’ Conference

MOMBASA, Kenya, Jan 25 – Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Justin B. N. Muturi, officially closed the 2nd Annual Huduma Centre Managers’ Conference on Thursday at the Kenya School of Government in Mombasa.

Held under the theme Service with a Smile, the conference brought together Huduma Centre Managers and public service leaders to align their strategies with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

Discussions focused on enhancing service delivery, celebrating achievements, and addressing sector challenges.

Hon. Muturi emphasized the critical role of Huduma Kenya in improving public service delivery and called for innovation and collaboration to better serve citizens.

“Our goal is to transform the entire public service so that every citizen interaction leaves a smile,” he said.

He praised the Huduma Mashinani initiative for expanding access to government services in grassroots communities and pledged to secure additional funding to broaden its reach.

Acknowledging service disparities across counties, the CS committed to ensuring uniformity in services offered at all Huduma Centres.

To enhance efficiency, Muturi announced the roll-out of the Huduma Kenya Universal Agent initiative, enabling staff to provide multiple services from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) at a single service point.

He urged MDAs yet to onboard their services to do so promptly and called for process re-engineering to reduce service turnaround times.

“Huduma Kenya has transformed public service delivery and earned national trust. Let us maintain this excellent work and continue to make a positive impact on the lives of Kenyans,” Muturi remarked, applauding the dedication of Huduma Centre Managers and staff.

The Huduma Kenya program has drawn widespread praise, with 190 Members of Parliament requesting the establishment of Huduma Centres in their constituencies.

As the conference concluded, Hon. Muturi reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing public service delivery and ensuring Huduma Kenya remains a beacon of excellence in governance.
